FABEM And 160 Youth Organization Declare Support For Palestinian Independence At The Indonesian Youth Conference In The Asia -Africa Building

Sambar.id, Bandung, July 13, 2025 – The Forum of Alumni of Student Executive Bodies (FABEM), together with more than 160 youth organizations from across Indonesia, officially declared their full support for the Palestinian people’s struggle for independence. This statement was delivered during the Indonesian Youth Conference for Palestine, held at the Asia-Africa Conference Museum Building in Bandung.

The event, coordinated by Chairperson Lutfi Maula Alfianto, served as a platform for unifying the voice, stance, and vision of Indonesian youth in supporting Palestinian liberation and promoting global peace.

“This conference is not merely ceremonial. It marks the beginning of a collective youth movement in Indonesia to support Palestine with real action,” stated Zainuddin Arsyad S.Ip, Tody Ardiansyah Prabu, S.H representative of the FABEM Central Executive Board (DPP), who was present along with delegates from FABEM West Java Regional Board (DPW).

Key Recommendations from FABEM for Concrete Youth Action

As a result of the discussions, FABEM issued several strategic recommendations, aiming to inspire and guide Indonesian youth in taking meaningful actions in support of Palestinian independence and world peace:

1. Formation of International Youth Solidarity

Initiate global youth forums and conferences to build a strong international solidarity network in support of Palestine.

2. Amplifying the Cause Through Media and Digital Platforms

Encourage youth to actively use social media and mass media to voice their support, express critical opinions, and shape public discourse in favor of Palestinian independence.

3. Pressuring the Indonesian Government to Act

Call upon the Indonesian government to refrain from establishing any form of cooperation—business, economic, or diplomatic—with entities directly or indirectly affiliated with Israel.

4. Youth-Led Boycott Movements

Urge Indonesian youth to actively boycott products and brands with affiliations to Israel, as a form of peaceful economic resistance.

5. Mapping and Advocacy Against Pro-Israel Business Entities

Conduct thorough data collection on Indonesian companies affiliated with Israeli interests. This data can serve as a basis for public awareness campaigns, advocacy efforts, and digital mobilization.

Defending Palestine is a Constitutional Mandate

FABEM also emphasized that supporting Palestinian independence is not only a moral responsibility but also a constitutional obligation. This is aligned with the Preamble of the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, particularly the first paragraph stating that "independence is the right of all nations", and the fourth paragraph affirming Indonesia's commitment to "establishing a world order based on freedom, lasting peace, and social justice."

This conference is expected to serve as a foundation for stronger collaboration among youth organizations and to position Indonesian youth as a moral force and advocate for justice in the global arena.
